EO gas sterilization is still the most widely used sterilizing method in the medical industry. EO sterilization does not normally involve very high temperatures and this fact allows a fairly wide choice of suitable packaging materials. The final pack needs to have a breathable section allowing the sterilant gas to penetrate into the pack.
