Wipak provides the full range of print-related services from a single source – from graphic design consulting and state-of-the-art pre-press options including reproduction, platemaking and cylinder preparation through to sophisticated gravure and flexo printing. Wipak has continually invested in the pre-press and printing facilities at its European production sites and has also expanded its capacities.
Our high-performance gravure and flexo printing presses operate with up to eleven colours, coatings and adhesives in a single pass. Our in-house pre-press facilities and fully automated platemaking, cylinder engraving and storage systems are vital parts of the overall printing process, ensuring maximum flexibility and reproducibility. Wipak is therefore just as capable of printing fancy patterns as it is of producing anti-counterfeit films by using specially designed printing plates/cylinders and ink systems, or of printing standard-compliant bar codes on thermoformed packs.
Wipak’s production units in southern Germany (Wipak Kempten) and Finland (Wipak Avans) are equipped with state-of-the-art flexo printing presses enabling films to be printed with up to ten colours. The machines allow quick changeovers with short makeready times even for small print runs. As the reproduction work is carried out centrally in Walsrode for both sites, graphic design consulting is also given more scope. Print design families which involve both flexo and gravure images can therefore be perfectly harmonized.
