of planning and building, the new factory, situated in the community of Llinars des Valles, north of Barcelona, now offers ideal conditions for the manufacturing and processing of high-quality composite films. “I am sure that this investment will give us a boost for the Spanish market“, says Matti Rovamaa, Director of the Wipak Group. The new factory is going to almost triple Wipak Iberica’s production capacities.
The new factory so far marks the highlight of Wipak’s development in Spain. In 1992, the company had initially opened a sales office. Twelve years later, the next step was the purchase of production capacities from Flexpack. The takeover of the print and lamination division of the Spanish company Flexible Packaging S.A. in 2004 was another important step allowing Wipak to locally cover the entire range: production, lamination, packaging and printing – everything combined under one roof.
Today Wipak Iberica has more than 40 employees. As a production and logistics site, Spain is an important hub for the market in Southern Europe.
