Efficient use of raw material resources and prevention are the base of our innovative flexible packaging solutions since many years. With our latest coextrusion technology we are able to produce flexible thermoforming films 25% thinner than with conventional technology.
1. Flexible thermoforming solution for vacuum and MAP-applications
Ultra-thin lidding film (BIAXER Q 35 XX AFM) combined with high performance flexible thermoformable bottom film (SC 95 PLUS) enables a 18% material reduction without compromise on product safety. The solution offers a 18% reduction of the CO2 footprint compared to standard solutions (lidding 65 µm and bottom 112 µm). Brilliant transparency and excellent mechanical strength complete the package.
2. Mono-material solutions for fresh or processed products
Highly transparent, that’s what polyester-based packaging is known for. PET solutions gathering more and more market share and deliver potential for material reduction. Realizing a mono-solution (BIAXER ECO 40 XXX PET PEEL lidding film and APET bottom film) with 90-95% PET content and a material reduction of 20-30%, a CO2 footprint reduction of 15% can be realized.
Ultra-thin but ultra-high oxygen barrier for best product protection is granted and even an additional security feature is added. A nice whitening effect of the peelable top and bottom seal after first opening proofs that the sealing was homogeneous and secure.
3. Outstanding product presentation that’s what skin-packaging is known for
WINFRESH® XX 100 AL enables the use of a mono-APET tray without the need of a sealing layer, accordingly 50 µm reduction of tray material. If the lidding film is fully separated from the tray, the APET tray can be recycled if accepted in an existing PET-stream.
Further advantage of WINFRESH® XX 100 AL is a sealing process temperature of about 160°C which is up to 40°C less than for competing films. This sums up to lower preheating, faster process and less deformation of the tray.
4. Thinnest reclose solution for sliced products securing product freshness
Inventing REPAK® reclose liddings we started with a 95 µm solution about 10 years ago. Step by step we decreased the thickness leading to the latest and thinnest solution REPAK® TOP 65 XX P with 20% reduced thickness (compared to actual standard with 80 µm) and a CO2 footprint reduction of 15%.
Sealing on mono-APET the reclosable lidding enables for a further material reduction of the bottom film.
